Trims Make Hair Grow Faster - StyleLIES

Your hairdresser told you that coming in for a trim every six weeks will make your hair grow faster. She said it so it must be true, right?
Wrong! First off, you got duped and she's eating up your tips. Second, if you want your hair to grow faster, well there is very little you can do – unless you can change your genetics that is.
Hair grows roughly half an inch per month, slightly more in the summer. This is whether you get trims or not. So if you are trying to grow your hair out but are getting it trimmed ½ an inch every six weeks, then you won't get very far. What a good trim does do is eliminates split ends which, in the end, does make hair look better and healthier.
So if you're growing your hair out, the best way to go is to skip the salon until you reach your desired length. And if you're worried about too many splits end's during your stylist separation period, than lay off of the hot stuff (ie: curlers, irons, blow dryers) for awhile.

I don't believe this is true. My understanding is that the hair cut removes split ends and keeps them from breaking off making it appear that you hair grows faster. It doesn't, it just doesn't break off with regular cuts.

Your hair grows from the top, not the ends, so getting it trimmed every 6 weeks makes no difference in the way it growns. Skip the trims if you want to grow your hair out, just as the article says. As long as you eat well, condition your hair and don't over process it, along with skipping the trims, it will grow out just fine. My hair is to my knees and has been for many many years. I have very few, if any, split ends. When I do find one, I snip the split off that one hair. I always get compliments on my hair, so this process works.

I wanted to make my hair grow fast last year cause I wanted a longer style, so I looked online for something to help me. I eventually ended up at the website www.howtogrowhairfast.com.
So I bought the guide (which didn't cost much), and I used some of the techniques and recipes they gave me and used the special jumpstart program, and they really worked! I was so surprised at how fast my hair started growing. It was awesome. So if you got a couple bucks to spare, I say you mind as well check out that guide. I'm glad I did. It was the best purchase I ever made. :)
