Sarah Palin Style Evolution
When she was a flat-broke (but "not flat busted") student at the University of Idaho in the 1980s, Sarah Palin dressed in the frumpy-freshman's uniform of tee shirts and shorts. But by the time she took the national stage this summer, she had a chic RNC-financed wardrobe that could have paid for the $125,000 dump truck penciled into the Wasilla City budget -- with enough left over for a family shopping spree at Alaska's first Target. To see how Palin morphed from dorm-dull to camera-worthy, click on.

Sarah Palin -- then Sarah Louise Heath -- walked off with the Miss Wasilla crown in 1984 wearing a red and white strapless confection.

Even by 1984 standards, Palin's swimsuit for the Miss Alaska pageant was a bit modest . Here, she models a red one-piece, which she later swapped for a "Dynasty"-worthy navy sequined gown. Though Palin snagged Miss Congeniality honors in the race, she lost the title to Maryline Blackburn, the first African-American to represent Alaska in the Miss American contest.

In 1992 -- the year Donna Karan ran an ad showing a glamorous woman being sworn in as President -- 28-year-old Sarah Palin was all bold shoulders and bright earrings as she ran for the Wasilla City Council.

Dressed for success: Palin, as a member of the Wasilla City Council, wears the crisp blazer-and-white-shirt uniform favored by of legions of working women. Must have worked. Within 14 years, she was elected mayor of Wasilla and governor of Alaska.

Forget how cold it gets in Alaska. In 2005, Gov. Palin's look in a pink Lilly Pulitzer sweater can be summed up in two words: Palm Beach.

For her gubernatorial inauguration ball in 2007, Palin traded the librarian's up-do and black skirt and jacket that she wore to the swearing-in ceremonies for loose curls and a raspberry portrait-collar gown.

When you're heading into the sub-zero temperatures of the Tesoro Iron Dog competition, you don't even think about wearing peep-toe pumps. Here, Palin bundles up in heavy padding, fur and lace-up boots to cheer on her husband, Todd, who has won the snow machine race across Alaska four times.

At a "Road to the Convention" rally last August, Palin wore a basic black suit (and her old $89 Naughty Monkey peep-toe shoes) as John McCain officially introduced her as his running mate.

We can hardly believe it, but this strange fascination with all things Sarah Palin still hasn't run its course. Case in point, someone claiming to be Palin's niece just sold a pair of the governor's Naughty Monkey pumps -- that she reportedly bought with her own money (not like all that fancy designer stuff the RNC picked up) -- on eBay for a whopping $2,025. Regularly priced, these heels retail for about $90 -- but put the foot of a thwarted VP candidate in them, and the price skyrockets like they're some kind of relic.
Other items included in the auction were an autographed picture of the former VP candidate wearing the pumps and the Sharpie pen used to sign the autograph -- plus Palin is supposedly going to sign the shoes themselves. No confirmation yet on whether the governor actually agreed to any of this. If we were the buyer, we'd definitely want a third party expert to verify all of the supposed "history" behind these two thousand dollar shoes.
On a similar note, Obama's Chrysler 300 fetched $271,300 on Ebay last week -- so Democrats aren't shy about spending either.

IT'S APPARENT THAT BHO'S REQUEST IN HIS INAUGURAL SPEECH FOR AMERICANS TO STOP ACTING LIKE CHILDREN WAS TOO MUCH FOR YOU TO GRASP AT THIS POINT IN YOUR LIFE.

Leave it to the Republicans to be avowed and dedicated Foot Fetishists!
It shouldn't be surprising. After all they licked George W. Bu$'s boots for the last 8 years.

I have to laugh at your comments. The love fest for Obama gets to the point of being nauseous. And what is with the $$ sign in Bush's name? I assume you haven't noticed that the Dems have put forth the largest spending bill in the history of the country and are calling in "stimulus". Right. This bill will cost more that the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan combined. Talk about "licking someone's boots". Keep drinking the Kool-Aid.

I don't see anyone talking about the $271,300 that was paid for Obama's Chrysler that sold on EBay last week.

Picture # 21 of 22 - You sure can tell "Stylist" only knows what goes on in the high dollar, big name fashion icons. They know what each "trendy" outfit and accesory costs, but do not know that Govenor Palin is NOT wearing a pink dress (what a description) but a very popular copy of an Alaskan Native outfit. Lets see if you can do a little research (WHAT !?!) and find out what it is called, who makes them and what they cost....a little too "not good enough for me?"

For the life of me I just don't get the thought process of the Conservatives. Some self-described "Hockey Mom" who waved like a beauty queen while winking through an important speech... peppering her oratory with, "You betcha!" is a someone worthy to trust the future of our country to. Folksy didn't help us over the last 8 yrs. and we sure can't afford it now! You people won't even make certain that the insults you hurl are based in truth! The Republicans just aren't mature enough to run the country. They behave like a bunch of angry 9th grade cheerleaders. No thank you!

Quit hyperventilating. And yes, it is quite possible that the cashier at Circuit City could be a dancer or the mechanic at GM could also build a bridge. Or would you just package the money up and send it to Iraq for your "War on Terror?" That hasn't helped one lick to stimulate the economy, but at least the execs at Halliburton are gainfully employed. Now sit back and let the adults run the show for a while.

You stupid democrats have to admit she looks better than Michele Obama, who has no idea how to dress.

Scott 1-30-2009 @ 10:27AM
The RNC had to dress her up from her "valley trash" look. Her original sense of "style" was embarrassing! No one dresses Michelle, and only Republican pricks and racists say she has poor tastes in clothing. Which are you?
