Emerald Forest - green and tan beaded necklace with peyote tubes by MiscBeadsToday's featured indie designer is jewelry artist Rose of MiscBeads. Rose creates wonderful beaded jewelry and her story proves that everyone has a little creative spark inside of them, just itching to get out.

How did you get started as a designer? I went to a free class at the library that taught how to make beaded bracelets. I made one, and I was hooked! I was given two colors of beads to take home from the class, and I kept making bracelet after bracelet out of those same two colors. Eventually, I ran out, so I started buying more and more beads.

Vineyard Harvest - green and purple multi-strand beaded bracelet by MiscBeadsWhat inspires your work? The beautiful colors and supplies I have to work with, and designing jewelry that people love. There are so many color combinations possible!

What are your top fashion & beauty must-haves? I like simple jewelry that goes with almost anything.

Any advice you would give to aspiring designers? Do what you love. It's hard for me to create something if I don't feel like it. If you're doing something you don't like, it might not last long. Also, don't be afraid to try and learn new techniques, it's worth it!

Where can people find your work? On Etsy at www.miscbeads.etsy.com.

We love all of the amazing independent designers out there and we wanted to find out more about what makes these creative types tick. If you do too, check out more of our Indie Designer Interviews.
