I'm in New York City for New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter '09. Before this madness got started, I went to the Bowery Hotel for the launch of Belvdere IX Vodka.
Mary-Kate Olsen, who has always been known for her style, made a brief appearance at the launch of Belvedere IX (pronounced One-X) at the Bowery Hotel in Manhattan's Lower East Side. She hung with DJ Paul Sevigny in a fluffy fur jacket. Fortunately PETA wasn't around to throw paint.
MK doesn't allow photos inside parties because she doesn't want to tarnish her reputation as a party girl, so I had to stand across the room and shoot her paparazzi style once she turned around. Out of 300 pictures I took of her, this is the only one of her face.
Mary-Kate and her sister Ashley just announced that they launched a men's collection in their courture line, "The Row."

I think that coat would look much better on the animal that was born with it. New York is NOT Siberia where something like that would be all the inhabitants could get their hands on.
Shame on her.

She already looks like a dead animal without that fur coat. I really don't understand why would anyone wear a dead animal, and I regard as a major character flaw buying fur knowing that an animal was killed for the purpose of being made into a totally unflattering piece of clothing.

although fur is wrong.
people are still going to wear it
sadly you can not change everyones thinking
and just hope they know what horrible things there doing.
less and less people are wearing fur
than 5 years ago.
I think peoples minds are evolving
and real fur will be a distant memory.
