Boy From the Projects Addicted to Shoplifting Couture
Filed under: Fashion, Best of the Season
Over the years one 17 year old boy, named Kevahn Thorpe, has managed to shop lift thousands upon thousands of dollars worth of high fashion clothing. And now, this young man from the projects in NYC will go to jail for his addiction to couture. After so many repeat shoplifting offenses, the judge had no choice but to send Kevahn away for one to three years. While it seems like a sad story, Kevahn says that dressing himself in nothing but designer clothes is worth it, "I feel high-class-like nobody can tell me nothing."
Other than this fashion addiction Kevahn was a smart kid -- an honors student actually. And when it comes to style, he really does know his stuff.
In an interview he's full of questions, "Who does Dior now? Who designs Paul Smith? Remember Louis Vuitton? Like, a few seasons ago, he did a SpongeBob theme? You know Louis Vuitton started off making trunks, right? In the 1800s? Balenciaga, who does it for women's? You know that Yves Saint Laurent died, right? At 71 years old. He's the first person, the first designer, to have black people model his clothing."
It's sad that someone so intelligent will go to jail for an addiction to clothes. How's that for a true fashion crime?
