Getty Images Red Carpet Photographer Frazer Harrison on who in Hollywood needs help
Pose Like a Celeb
Which actresses need the most advice?
Frazer Harrison: All the new ones, really. Well, Freida Pinto is so new to all of this, and the whole world is watching her, aren't they? Even if she herself isn't nominated, the movie is getting all of the attention, so she really needs to do it right. She needs to make sure she gets that single fashion picture the group shots are great, but she really needs that single picture.

Anyone else?
FH: All the ladies who are nominated need to dress well, and they should know that by now. But Meryl Streep ... do you remember when she wore that all black outfit, and she won [for her role in "The Devil Wears Prada"]? Her excuse was, "Well, I didn't think I would win." Dammit, it we have to dress up, so do they. Maybe she'll actually get herself a stylist this year.

Who are you looking forward to seeing at the Oscars?
FH: Mickey Rourke is always fun. How do you describe his look? Urban cowboy, with the boots and the leather? But Danny Boyle is always wonderful – as is the whole "Slumdog Millionaire" group. They're going to win it. He's so polite, and it's a shame that guys like Sean Penn get as much attention as they do.

FH: I also really love Melissa Leo – she's up for an Oscar this year, and she's just so gracious and lovely.

Are there a few universal red carpet tips you can share?
FH: Sure. Dress comfortably – wear a dress you can take more than half a step in, and don't pair it with six inch heels. Or, bring a spare pair of shoes with you. Follow the left to right eye contact rule – hit your pose, and then move your head from left to right to give everyone their picture, and ignore the shouting. And don't bob your head! Also, don't arrive with 15 minutes to go – it's madness.

Is that all?
FH: No! Don't wear black. I mean, black is great if you're a bit on the portly side, sure, but find something that's not a pitch black. Don't bring your glass of champagne out of the limo with you, and leave your boyfriend out of most of the pictures.

How about posing tips for the rest of us?
FH: Women should never stand straight on. Men can, because the wide chest is masculine, but women need to turn a bit; we need to see the line of the dress. Some dresses are better for that than others, but turning your body slightly, and your head slightly is good. A little over the shoulder, to show the back of the dress, is great. And, if you have a bit of a double chin, raise your chin a bit.

Any other advice?
FH:Just look at the entertainment magazines and see what everyone is doing in there. Then, practice!
