Dr. G Tells Us How His Star Patients Prep for the Oscars

Filed under: Beauty, Celebrity, News, Makeup, Red Carpet

Dr. David GoldbergWhen stars come out in force for events like the Oscars, all we see is the end result. But little do we know what goes on behind the scenes months in advance. That's where Dr. David J. Goldberg comes in. He treats our favorite celebrities for red carpet appearances up to three months in advance. And that's not all the juicy (and sometimes sweaty) details he's revealed.

The extremely friendly Dr. Goldberg claims that the majority of movie stars are "ordinary people with extraordinary lives." And what happens to us ordinary folk when we're put under extreme pressure? We sweat. The solution? Botox in the armpits. Yup! The doc told us that he can vouch that all of the stars on the Oscars carpet will have Botox'd pits to prevent embarrassing sweat marks, especially since they have to return those gorgeous gowns at the end of the evening.

Some of the other standard Oscar preps are Botox in the forehead or less invasive procedures like the new fractionated lasers they have at Dr. Goldberg's office. An appointment with one of these lasers is one of the most sought after pre-carpet treatments because they remove spotting, redness, blotches – the works – without a less than pretty wound that takes months to heal.

We know what you're thinking, "Heck, if we prepared with lasers and what not for months we'd have movie star skin too!" Actually ... you can get red carpet worthy skin -- for less! Dr. Goldberg suggests a daily regimen of a mild cleanser like Cetaphil or Clinique Medical Probiotic Cleanser (a line made for post-treatment care or for those patients with majorly sensitive skin), a good sunscreen, and your choice of any of the anti-aging/antioxidant products out there; all of which "promotes healthy skin for less than $100."

Dr. Goldberg says, "You can use treatments to make skin look great, whether Oscar winner or everyday person that don't involve surgery. Today, with Botox, lasers, and topical ingredients you can make your skin look like a million bucks without spending a million bucks." Amen!
