Old Navy Plus Size Bathing Suits
Filed under: Swimwear and Lingerie, Fashion
Old Navy can be hit or miss, but we still like to give them credit for trying to design trendy and affordable plus-sized clothes. Their spring/summer line is out now, and some of the plus-size bathing suits are really cute and flattering!Ignoring for a minute how insane it is to try on bathing suits when it's still snowing, we're glad to see some smart tailoring, fun colors and the right kind of patterns -- small ones, that trick the eye -- on four very wearable one-piece bathing suit styles:
- side-rusched tank
- cross-back tank
- faux tankini
- underwire halter
They also have a two piece tankini in a couple of sassy prints and some swim cover ups that range from perfect to a pair of "what were they thinking?!" 3" terry hotpants. Sure, equal opportunity exhibitionism and all, but we know very few women -- plus-size, medium-size or pint-sized -- who should be wearing those.
If you're ready to face the flourescent lights of the dressing room, then check them out in person. We're still at the hot chocolate and online shopping stage, but these designs definitely gave us some inspiration!

I just ordered one of the Underwire Halters in black. It'll be in the mail tomorrow, I'll let you know how they look on a real person! :-)

I think you can add a few more Old Navy styles to the "what were they thinking" list. The metallic striped swimsuit pictured is a definate NO, as is the striped tube cover ups. In addition, you still cannot find any of their plus size styles in the stores. If you are shopping for plus size swimsuits on line - check out the selection at AlwaysForMe.com. Fun prints, bold colors and great figure flattering details that will make you look forward to summer.
