Pennyroyal Silver - Rock and Roll Jewelry

Pennyroyal Silver began with a dude, a penny, and a hammer, and now it's a full-fledged jewelry company with fans that include Jack Black, The Foo Fighters, Lucinda Williams, The Black Eyed Peas and Sheryl Crow. With pendants inspired by music titles (at right is the Shine On), Pennyroyal Silver is definitely rock and roll.Three years ago, self-proclaimed music industry dropout Tim Foster wanted to make a meaningful gift for his girlfriend. He took a 1979 penny (his birth year ... oddly, not hers ... typical man), a rock, and a hammer, and made one simple, hella gorgeous pendant. The girlfriend is now his wife and he now sells his raw, retro-looking pendants with their fragile, heartfelt appeal for $70 to $175 (more for custom pieces).
Though Foster is no longer in the music business, a portion of the profits from every Troubadour pendant (see gallery) benefits MusiCares. Cool! Check out more of his unassumingly romantic pendants below, and buy yours here:

I have the 'Shine On' pendant and get so many compliments on it. It finishes that 'effortlessly chic' look I strive to achieve.

I really like your jewelry. I am going to buy the "wings" one for my friend. She loves hearts. And I like the music note. I play guitar and drums. Keep up the good work.

I have 3 custom pieces and a 4th made for my mom. EVERYONE comments on them. It's not at all ordinary. Simple pieces with complex meaning.

I received a custom piece for Christmas 07. It's stylized initials of my wife and two sons. Next to my wedding ring, in 32 years of marriage its the most valued object I've ever owned and never take it off. The creativity and craftsmanship are outstanding.
