Can the voice of Barry Manilow keep kids out of a mall? That's what officials in Christchurch, New Zealand are hoping. WTF?

Apparently, the Christchurch outdoor mall is overrun with hooligan teenagers. Their proposed solution? MANILIZE THEM.

"'The intention is to change the environment in a positive way ... so nobody feels threatened or intimidated,' Central City Business Association manager Paul Lonsdale told The Associated Press. 'I did not say Barry Manilow is a weapon of mass destruction.'" -- Yahoo News

Teenager Emma Belcher told reporters "We would just bring a stereo and play it louder," and Lonsdale said if they did that, he'd hit them with anti-noise laws.

Really mature, guys. Why can't we all just come and give without taking?
