It appears another magazine has fallen victim to the global recession.

While Mauer Media doesn't explicity state in its press release that it's closing down British men's style magazine Arena indefinitely, we have no idea what else to interpret from the phrase "suspending publication." Not to mention the company has announced it will help the tome's 12 staff members find other jobs within the company.


Further, Homme Plus, the biannual style title that began as a spin-off from the 22-year-old Arena, will not be affected by Arena's suspension. It's worth noting that Bauer is the publisher who decided to relaunch Pop with Dasha Zhukova so maybe the closing of Arena was needed in order for them to concentrate more on Pop because, well, that style magazine is going to need a lot of help.
