A Model Fight Breaks Out at the Jean Paul Gaultier Show
Filed under: News
The last time we saw a really, really good fashion fight was back when Tyra Banks passive aggressively chewed out Naomi Campbell on her daytime talk show for torturing her as a young and upcoming model. However, we're thinking the brawl that took place this past weekend at Paris Fashion Week may just take the cake. Even if it was totally staged.
Picture this: two models decked out in thousands of dollars worth of fall '09 Jean Paul Gaultier garments, punching each other and dumping buckets filled with some kind of fluid on top of the others head. Unreal, indeed. Luckily for us, Canadian supermodel Coco Rocha posted a video on her blog. Enjoy!
Crazy Heels
Nina Ricci Fall 2009
It is safe to say that practicality wasn't high on Olivier Theysken's list of priorities when he designed his final collection for Nina Ricci. These platformed boots with a mini heels were just one of the many pieces of gravity defining footwear in his show.

Scherer Gonzales Spring 2009
The German designing duo had models tiptoeing through tulips (and Lucite encased orchids) at a runway show in Berlin.

Mischa Barton attended the Christian Dior Spring-Summer 2009 Haute Couture Show in Paris on January 26, 2009 clad in (what else?!) head to toe Dior. Her shoes looked as tall and skinny as she did; though the platform heels,
a version of those shown at Christian Dior's Spring 2009 Ready-to-Wear Runway Show, were carved to mimic an African fertility goddess. Something Miss Mischa may need if she manages to lose another pound...
Vanessa Williams
In an outfit that would make Cruella De Vil jealous, the 45-year-old actress waits for her close-up in New York on the set of Ugly Betty. While we don't think Williams would wear such an ensemble, we wouldn't put it past her character, Mode Magazine Editor-In-Chief, Wilhelmina Slater, to show just how much of an animal lover she is by matching the furry footwear with an animal trimmed poncho.

Jennifer Connelly
The actress attended the premiere of her new film He's Just Not That Into You in this super chic look straight off the Balmain runway. The dress is eye-popping enough on its own but paired with those blingin' gladiator sandals, it's safe to say no one had more sparkle on the red carpet than Connelly!

Heidi Klum
The supermodel's 80s-inspired dress at the Golden Globes got so much negative attention that her massive Christian Louboutin bondage heels went almost unnoticed!

the fight.....had to be staged. This would not have gone on as long as it did w/o someone stepping in. The fashion....by the looks of what I have seen....these 'fashios' are just the thing you need for a street brawl.....about the only place they should be worn

I don't care if it's staged or not. Any designer who calls for that sort of show should be ashamed of himself. I just read and article about the 18 year old girl who killed herself after being bullied by female classmates. Then you see this where women are portraying themselves this way. It might have been meant as cheeky, but it really just continues to bring home the idea to young women that it is ok to behave like this. It's bad enough that the fashion industry has to condone an unhealthy body image.

Absolutely staged. Every move looked completely choreographed. It was all part of the drama, to shake up an otherwise traditional runway show.

For those of you who say 'models don't eat', get over yourselves. They are THIN. Some people are ten pounds over weight, some people are ten pounds under... BFD! Why do we need one more thing to discriminate against? Would you ever make personal comments about a heavy set person? Well it works both ways. I am a 6ft bean pole! God made me this way and I love it!!! Please keep this in mind next time you make any personal comment about any body's physical appearance. If you don't want people to comment about your physique, keep your mouth shut. You go girls, keep workin' those runways!!!
