Hair Raising Star Styles
Jada Pinkett Smith
Please tell us this mullet chop job is for a movie. When Jada's hair is slightly grown out, shiny and sleek, its easy to see why she and her hunky hubby are considered one of Hollywood's most stylish couples.

At her best, Katherine Heigl successfully channels Veronica Lake. But with too much product, her locks are dingy: No self-respecting bridesmaid would ever leave the house with hair that looks like it was inspired by "There's Something About Mary".

Christina Aguilera
Only Bo Derek could be a perfect "10" in cornrows. Her new mommy makeover included trading her Dirrty 'do for Marilyn Monroe-inspired platinum blonde waves

How do you know when you hair has been dangerously over-processed (without using a Geiger counter)? When former playmate of the year Jayde Nicole tells you that your hair is not even healthy enough to be chopped off and turned into a wig. Ouch. That's exactly what happened when Hugh Hefner's latest twin girlfriends Karissa and Kristina Shannon, who appeared on "The Girls Next Door," went to donate their locks to Nicole's Lengths for Love cancer awareness charity.
The Perfect Blow Out
Do you love the look of an enviable salon blow out but can't bear the sticker shock price tag? David Dieguez, creative director of Blow (NYC's "blow dry bar" that specializes in straight styles for busy women and those lucky enough to have a standing appointment), shares 6 steps and his own pro tips to perfecting a fabulous blow out at home.
Rachel Been, AOL
Step 1: Treat Hair for the Desired Results
Eliminate tangles by combing hair with a wide-tooth comb (to prevent breakage), and then work in an anti-frizz, conditioning or volumizing product, depending on your hair's specific needs.
Rachel Been, AOL
Step 2: Finger Dry First
To speed up your blow out, finger dry roots with medium heat before you tackle straightening strands. Hair should be damp, not sopping wet, when you begin to dry, says Dieguez.
Rachel Been, AOL
Step 3: Stick with Extra Small Sections
Twist and clip hair into manageable parts. "It's best to work with the smallest amount of hair to avoid being overwhelmed," says Dieguez. The smaller the section, the straighter the results. Plus, twisting and securing hair close to your head will keep it damp until you're ready to dry the area.
Rachel Been, AOL
Expert Tip: Try A Lightweight Dryer
Investing in a lightweight hair dryer not only means relief from arm fatigue, but less of a workout means you sweat less around your face, which makes for sleeker results. A dryer with ionic ceramic technology will also get the smoothest results in the shortest time.
Rachel Been, AOL
Step 4: Use A Round Bristle Brush
Blow dry sections with a double boar bristle round brush that grabs hair for optimal tension. Dieguez says boar brushes achieve the smoothest and shiniest finish. Point the dryer's nozzle downward to eliminate frizz and help polish hair.
Rachel Been, AOL
Expert Tip: How to Tackle Hard-To-Reach Sections
Don't let tricky areas like the nape frustrate you. For any area you find challenging, section it down even further. Concentrate air on the roots first and then spend extra time on the ends where results really show, says Dieguez.
Rachel Been, AOL
Step 5: Completely Dry Hair
The trick to maintaining a blow out is getting absolutely all of the moisture out. Always go straighter than you normally would because when you step outside, the heat and humidity will instantly add back a little texture and volume, says Dieguez.
Rachel Been, AOL
Step 6: Lock in Your Style
Once your hair is dry, seal the cuticle by using your dryer's cold shot button to blast frigid air over tresses and finish with a flexible hold hair spray.
Rachel Been, AOL
Expert Tip: Make It Last
To extend the life any blow out, Dieguez's favorite trick is to use a dry shampoo in between washings. Not only does it absorb unwanted oils, but it keeps hair from losing the body it has when fresh.

No, the twins haven't fallen victim to those toxic shampoo ingredients now being outlawed in Canada. Their hair was unsuitable for donation simply because it had been bleached, along with just about every other star of the adult magazine and film world. According to Jayde:
"The twins (Hef's new girlfriends) can't actually donate their hair, the hair used has to be healthy enough to be retreated and not too over-processed,"So, if that doesn't drive home just exactly how bad bleach is for your hair, then nothing will. The good news for people who may want to one day successfully donate hair to a cancer charity -- or just maybe have hair that's healthy enough to be eligible -- is that there are all sorts of organic hair products these days to help you avoid these embarrassing situations.
The Best Celebrity Hair Cuts
Victoria Beckham's Pixie
A significant change from her trend-blazing angled crop of last year, this Spice girl's new 'do softens her features and makes her look less structured, says her stylist, New York's Garren. However, Garren warns that this cut isn't for everyone. An angular face shape, high cheekbones and big almond eyes carry off the striking cut best.

Rihanna's Trendy Crop
In order to pull off this songstress's daring cut, elegant features and a bold stroke of confidence are a must. "Rihanna's pixie cut showcases her high cheek bones and long neckline," says the star's stylist, Ursula Stephen. "What's great is that it's so low-maintenance all you need are regular trims and a great pomade!"

Katie Holmes' Classic Crop
The perfect mixture of easy maintenance and elegance, this cut is, "very convenient for on-the-go soccer moms who aren't afraid of stilettos," says Michael Murphy, Color Director at NYC's Eiji Salon, who has worked with Mrs. Cruise. "It's modern and glam, and is perfect for both heart-shaped and thin faces with hollowness at the jowels. Stay away if you have a full face - it'll exaggerate the roundness," adds Murphy.

Gwyneth Paltrow's Blunt Shoulder Bob
Reinventing herself this year, this busy mom's new style looks amazing worn both curly or straight. "This cut is a refreshing departure from her older, longer hair that was dragging her face down. The shorter length is more uplifiting and draws attention to her delicate features. It's perfect for oval, diamond and square shaped faces," says NYC Salon Owner & Stylist Mark Garrison.

Reese Witherspoon's Growing Out Bangs
If you're growing out bangs, look to this starlet's clever new cut to see how it's done gracefully. "The sexy waves are useful for growing out bangs because it adds flowing transition to the different layers of hair. Cut your bangs to an angle so they sweep easily to the side, and use a lightweight gel and side part to help them stay put," advises NYC Salon Owner & Stylist Mark Garrison.

Jessica Biel's Layered Shoulder Bob
Jessica's round face is slimmed by the playful layers of an above-the-shoulder bob, which also shows off the star's sexy shoulders. While this cut works beautifully for sweetheart and round face shapes, stay away if you're one of those gals who has to be able to quickly pull her hair into a ponytail; the flyaways can be especially testy.

Jennifer Lopez's Modern Farrah Fawcett
If you're fickle and love to change styles often like Jennifer, a length and cut like this lends itself to trying new looks. "It has movement, softness and sexiness all at once, but allows you to create because there's a lot of hair to work with," says Juan Carlos Maciques, celeb stylist at NYC's Rita Hazan Salon. "If you want to offset strong or prominent features, this cut will soften your look," suggests Maciques.

Who says you have to cut your hair after you're 40? This supermodel shows us that long, healthy hair looks great at any age. "This sexy, rock and roll cut allows Christie to keep her length and maintain versatility for different styles. Debra Messing's Layered Curls
The key to this red-headed raven's locks are long piecey layers and a youthful center part that makes her look "hippy chic," says her longtime stylist, Suave Celebrity Hair Stylist, Luke O'Connor. "There's no limits as to who can wear this look because it flows past the chin and frames the face wherever you want it to," adds O'Connor.

Jessica Alba's Face Framing Bangs
Sexy and touchable, Jessica's bangs are "wind-swept and not perfectly laying across her forehead," says her stylist, Robert Ramos. Ramos suggests blow-drying bangs from side to side with your fingers in order to get the tousled effect. Bonus: the long layered cut works on just about every face shape and hair texture, and the styling possibilities are endless.

Maybe these twin dumb-asses, blond or not, should read up on a charity before attempting to donate to one. What person, especially a child, would want a wig that broke off in pieces every time you put it on.

I think everything about these twitty twins is over processed including publicity. It's sad when your hair is so bad you can't even donate it, but what's worse they did it publicly. It's also disgusting that they publicize being with the same man and they are twin sisters. I knew enough to call the charity to find out if my hair is okay since I had colored mine another shade of brown & I don't have hair stylists taking care of me. I have almost 15 inches of hair that I am cutting off this weekend after I give it a really good conditioning treatment. I do think it's nice that they tried to donate their hair, but it was probably for the publicity anyway.

are those girls really playmates>? wow, they are not attractive. In all fairness though, charitys do not accept hair that has ever been bleached. I have very healthy hair, but have had highlights, and they wont take it.

This story sounds like BS to me. I have Locks-of-Love and donated my hair before. My hairdresser said that I couldnt because it wasn't long enough. We the official story at LOL is that they accept ANMY hair gratefully, the bishes is lying. They didnt even try to donate.

Locks of Love only takes hair that is NOT chemically treated. and approx 10 inches long....otherwise shorter hair will be sold.
Please keep coloring your own hair. We get double for color corrections in the salon!
