Love Your Underarms!

Filed under: Fragrance, Beauty, News, Makeup

Don't call it a Secret wants you to love your underarms.

The underarm is a source of much frustration for many of us. They sweat, they smell, they grow hair faster than a moose runs from Sarah Palin. Don't you wish they were easier? What's worse, other people have them, and theirs smell bad, too. It doesn't matter how beautiful someone is if they stink.

Secret is trying to change the way we view underarms and deodorant. They call deodorant a "beauty essential" and want us all to celebrate how beautiful, sexy, and curvaceous your underarms are. The picture above is a pretty convincing example that your underarm can be a womanly, lovely thing.

At an event hosted by Secret in the Fashion District of New York City, we watched a presentation of three Secret deodorants: A clear gel, a waterproof formula, and Scent Expressions. Naturally, the clear gel is great for when you're wearing black, and the waterproof is good for swimmers and beach bunnies. And it works -- click here to read about their bizarre demonstration involving a hard boiled egg.

The Scent Expressions are a series of scented deodorants. Secret wants deodorant, like a lipstick or an outfit, to be a means of self-expression. We liked the Vanilla scent the best, but can't really say we consider deodorant a good perfume alternative. Not yet, anyway.

The event lasted about two hours and nobody said "armpit." Not once. Wouldn't a rose by any other name ... oh, forget it. We at StyleList are all about loving our underarms. And calling them "underarms."
