It's no secret that this year's fashion season is struggling against a super weak economy. You had to know something was wrong when designers like Vera Wang and Betsey Johnson dropped out of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, and then FW teamed up with McDonald's to promote McCafe. At LA Fashion Week, one of Kevan Hall's designs featured freeze-dried cranberries to promote Dial's new cranberry body wash.

Sure commercialism runs rampant at all public events, it's true. And designers in particular have a tendency to go overboard with self-promotion. Still, who rents out space on their own fashion designs to help Dial advertise their products at their own fashion show during fashion week?
