It's perfectly understandable why, in certain work situations, a strict uniform and dress code policy is mandatory. For police, it's important to be able to tell the good guys from the bad guys with a glance. We get that. In Berlin, however, policy makers are taking dress codes to the next level. They've banned 10 designer labels in the official police dress code because the lines are popular among neo-nazi groups.

Unfortunately for fashion savvy cops -- and the designers who are getting a bunch of negative press out of this -- the ban includes a number of seemingly harmless sportswear lines like Fred Perry and Ben Sherman. Other designers in on the ban are ACAB, Alpha Industries, Consdaple, Lonsdale, Pit Bull, Outlaw, Troublemaker, and Thor Steinar.



While some of the brands have actually spoken out against the neo-nazi movement and tried to restrict outlets, their styles have apparently been hijacked as some kind of identity device for neo-nazi punks. You can bet that they're not happy about being lumped together with brands that outwardly sympathize with neo-nazis -- like Thor Steinar.
