Lose the Chicken Skin with KP Duty

This year we decided to get ready for summer early, doing a little dieting, a little exercising, and a whole lot of skin treatments. We want to rock the Michelle Obama look, with lots of sleeveless tops, which means we have to do something about our bumpy, chicken skin arms. We've looked before at the range of treatments available to the literally half of us out there with Keratosis Pilaris. This time we decided to go all out, and incorporate the one-two punch of Dermadoctor KP Duty lotion and bodyscrub.
We picked KP out of the pack of choices because they have a medical approach to the treatment, it's fragrance free, and they don't do animal testing. Also, we really like the packaging -- hey, we're only human.
It turned out to be a good choice, because KP Duty works. The lotion is super rich, but it soaks in quickly so you're not standing around, naked, cold and covered in goop. The body scrub is effective, and it doesn't give you a rash that's worse than the bumps you started with. And if you keep it up regularly, then you are rewarded with soft, touchable upper arms.
But let's be honest -- it's a hassle. And if you let it slide a couple of days, you're right back where you started. Plus, the alpha-hydroxy that makes it work so well? Also makes your skin incredibly sensitive to the sun. If you plan to flaunt your smooth arms on the beach, you'd better be prepared with some SPF 70.
We wish we were organized or vain enough to keep up with this every day, but it's probably going to be more of a special occassion prep, like something we do for a week or two before a big party. And for those situations, we're thrilled to know that KP is out there and waiting to make us pretty on the outside.
