Bangs Instead Of Botox?

Bangs
Bangs are big this season and this tress trend is showing no sign of slowing down. If you're considering the look, use these celebrities as inspiration: sleek and sexy like Tyra Banks, long and choppy like Reese Witherspoon, an updated pageboy like Katie Holmes' and everything in between. First up? British beauty Kate Beckinsale made an appearance at the Calvin Klein Fall 2009 show with these blunt bangs added to her signature long coif.

Leighton Meester debuted fringe bangs at the Proenza Schouler Fall 2009 show. The Gossip Girl star's new 'do is definitely a step up from her character's Upper East Side preppy look.

Keira Knightley is the epitome of French chic at the Chanel Spring 2009 Haute Couture show with blunt, thick bangs. To recreate Keira's hairstyle, use a large round brush to curl the ends. Smudge liner around the eyes and finish with mascara for the star's smoldering look.

Reese Witherspoon steals the show at last year's Oscars with long, sweeping blond bangs.

Janet Jackson is famous for her always-changing look. Her newest reincarnation? She lost 60lbs pounds and added blunt bangs to her super straight long locks.

American Idol star Carrie Underwood looks the part of country music's next big star with her chic up-do and face framing bangs.

The "Rachel" may be ancient history, but women still look to Jennifer Aniston for hair inspiration. The Marley & Me star couldn't resist mixing up her look with layered bangs while shooting a scene in Miami.

At the L.A. premiere of her new big action flick 10,000 BC, leading lady Camilla Belle showed her sophisticated side with her sleek new 'do.

Nobody makes laid back look as gorgeous as Mrs. Ben Affleck. Jennifer Garner opted for a shaggy 'do and side sweeping bangs to glam up her mommy style.

To help ease the transition from O.C. starlet to big screen star, Rachel Bilson is in the midst of a grown-up makeover that includes thick, eye-skimming bangs, smoky eyes and a wardrobe made up of trendy pieces by Zac Posen, Brian Reyes and Abaete.

Doesn't it seem like everyone's getting bangs these days? But the big question is, what are they hiding beneath that fringe?
In an effort to curb discretionary spending (can you really call essential beauty maintenance discretionary?), many women are cutting down on pricey treatments and finding creative alternatives. According to Suki Duggan, owner of New York City salon Donsuki Townhouse Salon, "One of my fashion industry clients lost her job and mentioned that she used to get Botox every 3 months, but now she can only swing it twice a year."
No doubt there are plenty of women just like her, lining up for help from their hair stylists to help camouflage horizontal expression lines, brow furrows and even crows feet, instead of shelling out thousands of dollars for the dermatologist's fix.
Celebrity stylist Ted Gibson thinks bangs are fantastic solution to disguise these signs of aging. "Bangs are always bangin'," says Gibson, who loves them on women in their thirties and beyond, like Kate Walsh, Reese Witherspoon and Joy Bryant. He also touts bangs as recession friendly because he and his stylists (at the Ted Gibson Salon in NYC) routinely teach customers how to trim their own bangs, to extend the time between salon visits. Gibson stresses that when you do ask your stylist to cut bangs, you should opt for a soft look, not a hard, blunt line, in order to bring out your eyes and emphasize your cheekbones.
The verdict? Forget Botox for now -- bangs are youthful, chic and penny pinching!

Bangs will not really hide crowsfeet. The only thing that helps crowsfeet is a great eye cream. The best one is Arbonne RE9
eye cream!!!

We spend a fortune on looking good, clothing, makeup, cars, etc. I can tell you that the easiest and cheapest way to look good is to lose weight. Lookin' good is well worth the effort. I lost 47 pounds in 6 weeks using the Rapidthin diet at www.rapidthin.com. Good luck to all. Use what works for you.

Those are some pretty old pics - "new" flick 10,000 BC, Jessica Alba a "mom-to-be" - just recycling old stuff because there isn't enough junk to fill the space????

How clever! Better yet, just comb all your hair forward and cover your entire face - that will conceal crow's feet, birthmarks, yellowed teeth, etc.
What do they think we are, morons?!?

People suffering from this disease can try topical anti-perspirants, like aluminum chloride or Drysol, oral medicines such as glycoprrolate or Robinol, amitriptyline, even Botox.

I am 65 years old with silver/gray hair and beard. Yes I have middle age spread which includes a belly, noticible but not gross. The women still smile and wink even though I don't try to hide my mature attributes. Why should I? If someone does not accept me as I am, they were not for me anyway

When I was younger, I knew next to nothing about skin care...Now that I am older, I see now how important it is to start taking good care of your skin from an early age....Ladies, quit smoking, eat healthy, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, and drink plenty of water!!!

This has to be one of the most stupidest articles AOL has ever had. Now if a woman has bangs shes "hiding" something. STUPID STUPID STUPID. I've had bangs since I was 14, so now I will be looked as suspiciously to see if I'm hiding something now that I'm an adult? Alot of women have hair styles with bangs because it looks better. I don;t particularly like my forehead and look better with bangs. So now if a woman has bangs its the female version of a comb-over!
