The Schick Intuition Plus is a razor with a lot of bells and whistles. We put its four blades and and shea butter to the test in our very own shower to see if all this is really necessary.

We attended an event for Women's Heath Magazine's first ever "Beauty Flip Issue" last week (you flip it over and upside down, and there's a whole extra special beauty section -- on stands now!), and they gave us a sample.

The Schick Intuition Plus claims "No need for shave gel, soap, or body wash." That's because the four blades are surrounded with a moisturizing solid made with shea butter, Vitamin E, and aloe.

How did it stand up to the shower test?

Firstly, on our underarms, it felt like putting on deodorant. The results were great, though -- all that moisture totally helped us avoid bumps.

Secondly, "down there," we had issues. The moisturizing solid is far too big to maneuver as necessary. We tried it just on the tricky edges of the bikini line, and the solid made the hair and skin too soft and soapy to shave. Fail.

Lastly, on our legs, the Schick Intuition Plus was great! We used no shaving cream or soap, and the solid did indeed provide a modest lather. Our only problem was that it glided so smoothly, we got a nick without even noticing. And again, it felt a little scary navigating it around our knees, since the solid is so big you can't really see where the blade is. But all in all? It made our legs totally soft and smooth -- very quickly!
