P. Diddy Accused of Racism

P. Diddy -- Puff Daddy -- Puffy -- Sean CombsP. Diddy is shooting a television commercial for Ciroc Vodka, and guess who he's seeking to cast? Hot girls, of course! The trouble is, he only wants girls of a certain shade.

The casting call for P. Diddy's Ciroc Vodka ad has been released and is circulating the agencies, so there's no doubt or debate about what has been requested: white, hispanic, or light skinned African American women. There are height and weight specifications, as well.

Casting calls can certainly be brutal. We barely flinch anymore at a height and weight restriction -- but when he wants only a particular shade of black girls? What can we call that but racism? Sometimes roles call for a particular race or hair color (due often to the lines in a script saying "Asian" or "redheaded" or needing to look like a family member of an already-attached celebrity), but P. Diddy seems to believe that only light skinned African Americans can promote vodka.

This has been a trend in the industry for awhile -- even L'Oreal was recently criticized for allegedly lightening Beyonce's skin in their ads. As if Beyonce wasn't hot enough for them! To see a talented man, especially with his level of success and influence, accused of perpetuating this kind of discrimination within his own race saddens us, to say the least.

We can only hope he didn't know about it and is already on the phone with everyone at Ciroc, trying to make it right. We want to believe in you, P. Diddy -- Puffy -- Sean Combs -- Sean John! Your clothing line continues to impress us:
