You buy a gorgeous new red cotton top, wear it once, throw it in the wash and bam, just not the same red as it used to be -- even after only one wash. Don't you just hate that? But now you can bypass fading with a simple laundry trick that will keep all of your brights looking brand spankin' new.

All you have to do to prevent fading -- and, even worse, dreaded bleeding -- at bay is to drop a tablespoon full of salt per item into the first washing. Designer Jacqueline Krafka of T Luxury, recently told Lucky Magazine that this method, "makes the dyes in the fabrics less soluble." Brilliant!
