MagCloud, Every Wannabe Fashion Editor's New Best Friend
Filed under: News
You know how you've always wanted to be the next Anna Wintour or Carine Roitfeld? You know, orchestrating highly influential editorials each month, sitting front row at Fashion Week, and having Steven Meisel on speed dial. Well, here's your chance to see your dream come into fruition!MagCloud is a new service that allows anyone with Adobe® InDesign (or any program that outputs high resolutions pdfs) to upload the contents of a would-be magazine and sell the final product at whatever price they believe it's worth. Simple, right? It's totally free to publish a magazine on MagCloud. However, it will cost 20 cents per page to print, plus shipping. So, if someone wants to buy your twenty-page fashion tome, it would cost around $4.00.
Now, let's not be silly. If you're aiming to create the next Purple Magazine, uploading a series of moody black and white pictures of yourself flanked by minimalistic block lettering probably isn't the way to go about getting the top heads over at Conde Nast to pay attention to you (ahem, KALINA) or take you seriously. That said, if you have a clear vision for an amazing fashion magazine, a lot of ambition, and have taken in a sufficient amount of Running in Heels episodes, this could be the best shot you have at nabbing an editor's job.
Bonne chance!
