We Love Jonathan Saunders' Topshop Collection!
Question: If your lower-priced, fast-fashion collection looks more thought out and well-executed than the $3,000 coats and dresses the models donned in your A/W '09 runway presentation, shouldn't you feel obligated to immediately place your pricey items on sale once they hit the department store racks?Okay, we don't have the answer to this (or any other profoundly deep existential life question) but this is the predicament British designer Jonathan Saunders finds himself in. After exploring the U.S. Topshop website for Kate Moss' new spring collection, we stumbled upon pieces from Saunders' collaboration with the mass retailer. And quite frankly, we're impressed.
The mini collection consists mostly of predominately black, block-colored, snug mini dresses with the exception of a satin bomber jacket that looks like it belongs more in JLo's eponymous clothing line. Our favorite piece would have to be the little number with ruching in the front and two-toned sleeves. Paired with a great pair of chunky sandals, it's the ideal 'going-out' piece for the summer and can easily be worn in the fall with a pair of black tights.
Check out the rest of our collection in the gallery.
