Barbara Bush to Marry in Maine This Summer?

barbara bush While Michelle Obama (and that dude she married) have been enjoying the spotlight during their first few months in the White House, I hear a little stardust is about to sprinkle on the previous family to live there.

Summer wedding in Maine, anyone?

The talk from Austin to Augusta is that former first daughter Barbara Bush and her beau Jay Blount, an investment consultant, are planning a ceremony at George Bush Sr.'s summer home.

"Barbara and Jay are getting married this summer in Kennebunkport," a source tells me. "It's very quiet, but their friends know."

Barbara (a.k.a. the brunette; twin Jenna's the blonde) and Jay met while they were both undergraduates at Yale. The couple is routinely described by the gossip media as "on-again, off-again," although he reappeared on her arm in the spring of last year.

The Bush family has kept a summer retreat at Walker's Point (Walker being the W in "Dubya"), Kennebunkport, for more than a century. Should your invitation to the nuptials not arrive, you can get a sense of the compound here.

A spokesman for former president George W. Bush declined to comment. However, a source close to the Bush family in Dallas indicated that talk of a summer wedding was untrue.

You must be joking! The taxes increases today are from GWB. He's a lying no-good piece of garbage that sent 3,000+ US soldiers to the deaath for no reason.

He lied to the American population and tortured countless people. I say, "Thank goodness he's gone." He was the worst president in our history and brought shame and disgrace to America.

I'm always amazed at those that blame Bush for the downfall of everything, including the current financial crisis. It is common knowledge that the Dems have been in power for the past two years. Bush is the head, but decisions are essentially made by the House and Senate, overrun by Dems (including the third in line for the big office).
