Jane Fonda - Still Sexy at 71
Just in case you needed an inspiration to get ready for swimsuit weather: See Jane go.
Jane Fonda stole the show at the Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS 23rd Annual Easter Bonnet Competition in New York this week, throwing off a fur coat to reveal red and black exercise togs. We're talking real exercise wear -- not yoga pants and a baggy T-shirt, but a leotard and tights. She then led a mini-workout that showed age 71 can still look amazing.
Back in the 1980s, Fonda's workout videos sold millions of copies and women around the nation copied her high-cut bodysuits and spandex legging-looks.
She also always knew how to work a belt -- a great technique still for quickly "shedding" a few pounds no matter your age.
Fonda reports on her blog that she had a blast doing the show, and helping her team from "33 Variations" raise close to $200,000 for charity.
How does she do it? She reports a nap before the show was a good call.
If she's not inspiration enough for how to age gracefully, check out the photos in this gallery of sexy women in their 60s.
Sexy Stars in their 60s
Helen Mirren has played a royal so often that she could probably take over for a real one, but she apparently hasn't got a bit of the Queen's stuffiness. The Academy Award-winner has been everyone from a naked housewife (in "Calendar Girls") to a tough-as-nails detective (in "Prime Suspect"), and even at 63, is confident enough to walk the red carpet in this figure-hugging white dress at the premiere of her new film "State of Play".

Don't call her granny, gray-haired or anything that even hints that she's something less than fab. At 69, Tina Turner still has a great growl, glorious gams and gyrations that could kill. And the singer, who shimmered (and shimmied) in gold leggings and matching Christian Louboutin heels during her 50th Anniversary tour stop in London, is not alone. Vacationing with her husband on Saint Barths, 62-year-old Soap star Susan Lucci showed off her fabulous bod in this itsy-bitsy green bikini.
Do you love Lucci? See her strut her stuff on the Heart Truth catwalk.

The one and only Grace Jones took to the stage at Camden's Roundhouse in London and wowed the crowd with both her performance and her physique! Now 60 years old, the former model and Andy Warhol muse still has to-die-for legs and a sense of style all her own.

Once the princess of punk, Debbie Harry, at 63, is now the embodiment of Baby Boom chic. Of course, no matter how (um) old she gets, the Blondie front-woman will still rock out and will never give up her signature yellow mane.

Taking a dip during her Hawaiian vacation, Goldie Hawn looked sexy and much younger than her 63 years.

It's hard to say if Mia Farrow is better known as an actress (everything from "Rosemary's Baby" to a baker's dozen Woody Allen films) or her spectacular romances (marriages to Frank Sinatra and Andre Previn, and a fabulously sordid split with Allen). Still, at 63, the single mother-of-14 shown at Hong Kong International Airport is so burrowed in humanitarian work as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and an activist against the genocide in Darfur, that Time named her one of 2008's 100 most influential people.

The most successful female recording artist ever, 18 No. 1 hits in the U.S. and 70 Top-10 hits since 1964, 64-year-old Diana Ross is still supremely cool. In 2007, she had the finalists on "American Idol" rocking her songs. In 2008, she not only captured a BET Lifetime Achievement Award presented by her five kids and Stevie Wonder but she also headlined at Radio City Music Hall in "Divas with Heart."

She was immortalized as the delicately beautiful Lara in the 1965 romance, "Dr. Zhivago," and in the nearly 45 years since, Julie Christie pictured here at the 2008 Academy Awards -- has clearly lost none of her allure. The It-girl of her generation, she's kept a lower profile in recent years, making only a handful of movies. She returned to the spotlight in 2005's "Away From Her," winning raves for her haunting portrait of a woman lost to Alzheimers, and in 2007, at 66, marrying for the first time.

It's also good to see she wears red as well as she did during the Viet Nam war.

Wow ... how old is this response. Viet Nam was a million years ago ... it is the top emerging market for investment by equity investors today. As it turns out, they have had a very peaceful time since we took our ugly mugs out of there, after murdering 59,000 of our own children to fight a war we never had a right to be in to begin with. Jane Fonda was right to protest it ... now get over it!
cecil decil 4-30-2009 @ 10:24AM
There is NO timelimit on being a TRAITOR. It is not that she protested, it is that she went to the N Vietnamese, and when the the US prisoners gave them their names, SHE turned those names into the enemy. They were tortured (the real kind, not the 20 second water dunking) and some killed. There is NO timelimit for being scum
So who cares she is thin....so were the prisoners she ratted on.

My actual reply is to David (who replied to Michaelene) - David, you're an idiot! Plain and simple! We would have WON the war in Vietnam, if NOT for traitors like Walter Cronkite and YOU and JANE FONDA. She should have been tried, convicted and shot. What people like her did then has got us where we are now. They (Iran) attacked us, just coming out of Vietnam, in 1979 because they knew we were weak and had a weak President. And it's been downhill since. Everytime we've had a weak President (Democrat), we've been attacked. But now we're on the run and no one is safe.

This is for Jim - you are WAY off base - ESPECIALLY the last sentence!!!! R U nuts or what??? Little "Buddy" Bush was the REPUBLICAN president when we were attacked on 9/11...he was the WEAKEST president of them all!!!!!!(and that's saying something, especially considering his dear old dad and old 'Ronald' who sucked this country dry! yuck!) Get real dude...the republicans got us in the mess we are today.

I was in "Nam.....David obviouly wasn't....she gave aid to the enemy........she was, and STILL IS, a traitor. Love her Dads movies, her brother is so-so......wouldn't give her the time of day

Anthony 5-02-2009 @ 7:42AM
stating your opinion is not being a traitor dumbass....but what anyone says to you will not make a difference. Stupid conservative bitch,
me 5-02-2009 @ 8:05AM
Bet she still looks good in a scope.
Dale Hopson 5-03-2009 @ 3:10PM
Why should Fonda have to make a quick exit being the toast of Broadway? She was right about Viet Nam ( a "war" we simply walked away from ) which was FOUR DECADES AGO!
fitforlife 5-03-2009 @ 2:26PM
No human has done more to hurt this country than Bush the Dumber
Mike Mansfield 5-03-2009 @ 3:11PM

David -
Your a moron. Maybe one day someone in your family can be betrayed in the same way as our soldiers from Vietnam were. You will understand then that time means nothing.
On a side note, I wonder if she is planing a trip to Iraq to participate in beheading one of our service men.

Idiots like "Anthony" should not express opinions on subjects about which they know absolutely nothing! "Hanoi Hannah" did much more than express an opinion: she provided AID and comfort to the enemy during a time of war! What she did went way beyond what the wasted, drug-addled. cowardly protestors and draft-dodgers (such as Bill Clinton) ever did!To the Viet Nam POW survivors and families, there is no statute of limitations - she deserved to spend the rest of her life in jail for treason!
clarke ammerman 5-05-2009 @ 10:28AM
blow it out your ass Davey boy--those of us that were there don't need some little muffin like you putting in your two cents about something you don't and never will understand. Hanoi Jane is a first class traitor and bitch. Too bad we did'nt let the NVA have her.
Cindy 5-03-2009 @ 6:00PM
I remember back then, of course I was in high school but my father was horrified being a staunch Republican and all. Now that I'm 53... heres my thoughts...
We live in a great country, then and now, where else can we protest and speak our mind and not be runover by a tank or shot down execution style. You may disagree with her point of view or her methods, as my father did, but we must respect her right to speak it. All those protesters from the Vietnam era are now in there 70's. Don't you think that some of them have different ideas now that they've experienced life. And how many ideas as a teen or youngin did you, yourself have that may be objectionable to others....
Tolerance..... best lesson ever taught, and learned...

Cindy- Are you even aware of why people say she is a traitor. Not because she protested the war, but because she went to Vietnam and gave comfort to the enemy, as well as being a publicity tool for them. If that was not bad enough she then betrayed our captive soldiers when they tried to pass her notes that they were still alive to give to their families. She should be locked up, no thats to good for her, she should be dropped into the same shit hole jungles were she betrayed our country and soldiers from 2000 feet up with no parachute. Before you spout off about freedom of speech remember who fought to give you that right.
