Katy Perry's 'Waking Up in Vegas' - Simple Steps to Get Her Sin City Look
Filed under: Fashion
Because of the super tight shooting schedule, there wasn't a lot of time for makeup changes. I had to create different looks and there were many scenes to get through so I chose to focus on different lip colors. When you're using an intense pigment, choosing different lipstick shades is a great way to change-up your look in one simple step without having to change everything. I used intense, unique pigments to make each look special without wasting valuable time on set. – Jake Bailey, MAX Factor Celebrity Makeup Artist

So want to get Katy's glamorous Vegas look? The lip colors Bailey used:
- Ms. Right "I used this vibrant red shade for the over-the-top red Bob Mackie outfit. It was full on red: red lips, red nails, red outfit – it was a really fun look because it was over done -- Vegas show girl style."
- Rose Rage Used for the hot pink blazer with sequin pants outfit
- Ms. Understood (above) "The parade scene is my favorite because Katy looked like a 1950s Vegas showgirl; complete with giant feathers, elephants and fire breathers all behind her – they closed down Fremont Street for the scene which was incredible! Katy was in such a great costume and I used Ms. Understood, my favorite shade in the Vivid Impact Lipcolor line which is so great on her, to play up the look."
For the full look:
- Apply DiorSkin Nude Foundation all over face
- Swipe the shimmery pink shade of Lorac "Hot Flash" Blush/Bronzer Duo on the apples of the cheeks and to the top of the cheek bones for highlighting
- Apply two coats of volumizing, dark black mascara like MAX Factor 2000 Calorie Extreme Lash Plumper in Extreme Blackout to lashes
- Use the silver top coat of MAX Factor Vivid Impact Highlighting Mascara in Moonlit Black all over the eyelid as a glitter adhesive
- Before drying, apply chunky silver glitter from Make Up For Ever on eyelids

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this look but I think you could do it with Medusa make-up glitter and eyeshadows and instead Max Factor use the similar shades in CARGO or
Josie Maran or Tarte lipstick and get the look in a more eco-friendly, less cancer chemical filled manner.
