Hamburger Dress - You Want Fries with That Frock?

A Dress That Really Shows Off Your Buns! Photo by WENN
This special sauce-y dress is hilarious and brilliant, which is just what O'Shell wants. She states the following on her Website:
Because I enjoy the irony between subject matter and material, I have merged my favorite subject matter (food) with my favorite process (crochet). I love food too much to be satisfied with its transience; therefore I am driven to give it permanence through art. I am a passionate advocate for crochet as an art medium -- going beyond its traditional uses and exploring its limitless possibilities. By taking both food and crochet out of their ordinary settings, I hope to challenge the viewer's preconceived notions of their roles. And I hope it makes people hungry.
The burger dress is awesome and all, but the sun is shining and we're coming off a long weekend, so we're thinking we might have to make a mid-afternoon change into the ice cream sundae dress.
Oh, and in case you're hoping to make one of your own, forget about it -- O'Shell's creations are one-of-a-kind, and no, she doesn't sell patterns. But, items that haven't been sold to a gallery yet are still available for purchase. Keep in mind, though, that she's an artist and charges accordingly -- meaning one of her food dresses sells for around $900.
Guess, most of us will have to settle for the drive-through to satisfy our cravings.

Not a chance... walking around looking like a big ol' cheesburger is the last thing I want to do. It's bad enough that at times I feel as big as a cow, but to walk around 'as' a cow, is too far fetched even for my imagination. Now, something slinky in a french fry, and I'm all for it.

They should have modelled this outfit on a large plus sized figure to really get the message across. If you eat nothing but hambergers, you're going to eventually look like a hamberger.

And Liz, isn't your comment typical non-American America bashing? Yeah, every American walks around dressed as hambergers and dreaming of pizza and cookies and cake. We all also love bombing brown people in third world countries and kneeling before actors and supermodels and worshipping them like a contemporary reboot of the Greek pantheon. Stupid Americans, aren't we all?

Cute but would not pay $900 for it! Do you know how many bills I could pay with that?

What a great dress!! I am jealous!! If you got the body or the buns--go for it. I am a 60 year old Grandmother and I am here to tell you--the first sign of old age is losing your sense of humor. Being a little silly is good for your health. Can you imagine what a hit it could be at the next family wedding.HUMMMMMMMMMMM! What a fabulous idea!
