Michelle Obama's Date Night Scent

It's been well chronicled that Michelle Obama looked fantastic (her black ruffled dress appears to be an Azzedine Alaïa, and the shoes, Jimmy Choo's "Lantern" heel). But did you know that she likely smelled just as beautiful as she looked?
During the couple's trip to London for the G20 Summit, Michelle charmed English schoolgirls and Queens alike, all while attending dozens of events under the watchful eye of, well, the world. Her meeting with Carla Bruni-Sarkozi alone had fashion tongues wagging for days.
So we were a bit surprised to read in of all places, the Financial Times, that Michelle Obama somehow managed to sneak in a visit to cult perfumer Michael Boadi without being caught on camera. Word is that she told him she had heard great things about the line and that she purchased not one, but three bottles of perfume.

Mr. Boadi's perfume line is only available in the UK (at Selfridges and Harrod's) so those of us that are curious will either have to fly to London or pay for international shipping to try them out.
However, we have a feeling that it's only a matter of time before Boadicea fragrances are sold in the US -- with an endorsement from the First Lady, it would be silly not to cross the pond and capitalize on Obamamania!

Is it the same scent as fresh new crisp taxpayers money?

No, that's the scent of an independently wealthy African-American woman flexing her buying power as a mature adult... you know we A-A's spend over $6 billion a year on beauty products as a group. So yes, shop on, Michelle!

Kudos, astralgirl. Personal expenses are not covered by taxpayer money. President Obama earned over $2 million last year from book royalties alone. The first lady was a successful executive. Some people will never, ever let the facts stand in the way of an opportunity to malign the president.

Well said Susan Smith! All that I can say for Mich. Obama is that she looks good. If you are trying to look good too... a good tip for women is to try fitflops.
