We'd heard rumors that there was a new Vogue model ... but this isn't quite what we imagined.

Meet Rachel Alexandra. No, she's not the hot new "It" girl; she's the hot new "It" horse. The AP reports that the Preakness-winning filly will be featured in the August issue of the fashion tome.

Apparently, Vogue editor Anna Wintour attended the equine event May 16th in Baltimore, Maryland -- and thought the female horse was stylish enough to grace the pages of her magazine. Wintour then sent photographer Steven Klein to shoot Rachel Alexandra on Friday, May 29th. (Relax, not shoot shoot, just photograph!)


Let's recap: This is the guy who's photographed every high-fashion model and celebrity we worship (Brad Pitt, Justin Timberlake, Madonna, Scarlett Johansson). The AP says Rachel had to be "awakened in her stall" when it was time for the camera session. She's probably the most laid-back celeb he's ever worked with!
