Isaac Mizrahi Designs Salmon Skin Dress - Any Takers?
Something's a little fishy about this dress, though you wouldn't know from looking. Photo: Mackenzie Stroh
Isaac Mizrahi signed on as one of 10 designers to collaborate with the Nature Conservatory and the Cooper Hewitt Museum's joint exhibition: Design For a Living World.
Designers chose one area of the world where the Nature Conservatory works, and Mizrahi went for... Alaska! He then chose the salmon skin, or salmon "leather," to create a dress and jacket. The skin is normally discarded after the fish are harvested.
So, what do you think? Trash or treasure? And would you wear it? Tell us in a comment below.

I love that designers are taking part in great causes like this one so much recently. Mizrahi definitely puts his creative genius to work with this salmon skin dress! Although this design won't hit the mainstream, it is fun to see how discarded natural materials can be used to create something lovely! Thanks for this- very interesting!
