Paula Froelich Has Written a Book. (And Seen Nick Nolte with His Pants Down!)

Today marks the release of Page Six editrix Paula Froelich's first novel, "Mercury in Retrograde" about three very New York-y women who are bound by a common address on Sullivan Street in Manhattan (the author's actual place of residence). Already lauded by the local literati, the new book has put Froelich in the limelight for a change. Here's how she responds:
StyleList: Are any of the stories real-life experiences translated into fictional accounts?
Paula Froelich: Absolutely, my job served as inspiration. After 9 ½ years at Page Six, I have seen and experienced some of the craziest things I never dreamed were possible. Like the Kitty Foil scene at the Met gala where she roller blades through the event causing mass destruction -- that actually happened. Just at a wedding.
SL: Do you prefer writing a book as opposed to working a daily news desk?
PF: I loved writing the book! Real life is always more fun/nuts than anything you could actually imagine. As for whether I preferred it...well, I'm not looking to get fired. At Page Six, you rarely get to write more than five paragraphs, much less a full page.
SL: Should celebs who want to stay on your good side buy this book and love it?
PF: Ha! I don't care if celebrities love it - I wrote it for NORMAL people!
SL: What's your most salacious Page Six story of all time that could never be published?
PF: I can't repeat my most salacious story, I'd get sued. But I will say, once I found Nick Nolte passed out on a toilet with his pants down. That was odd.
