The ultra-stylish Mr. Kanye West hosted the 3rd annual Men.Style.com Women of Fashion Awards last night in NYC to celebrate the most elegant behind-the-scenes women in the industry (who also happen, in this case, to be gorgeous).

Designers (Rachel Roy, Charlotte Ronson, Minnie Mortimer Gahan), muses (Chloe Sevigny, Milla Jovovich, Erin Wasson), stylists, publicists and other glamorous go-getters were feted at the Palace Hotel (fittingly, the fictional home of the "Gossip Girl" crowd).

The champagne flowed, flashbulbs popped, and there were -- no surprise -- many especially well-put-together guests milling about, surreptitiously checking out every last detail of each other's ensembles.

The panel of judges included Kanye, who is decidedly serious about his design aesthetic as you can tell from his blog, Sean Avery (hockey player turned Vogue intern turned, um, man-about-town), and Derek Blasberg.

I asked Mr. West about his style preferences. Not surprisingly, he prefers women who express themselves through fashion, and, yes, being supremely "sexy and elegant" doesn't hurt.

Ladies, he's currently single, rather dashing (and surprisingly nice) in person, so get your game on. Gold diggers need not apply.
