As we reported yesterday, a small beauty website, Best in Beauty, sent out a press release to announce a gift basket they sent to Malia Obama for her July 4 birthday. They were also offering customers the chance to purchase the same array of products through their website, touting it the "Malia Birthday Gift" basket.

But word spread quickly, and the basket was promptly renamed--without reference to the first daughter. According to spokesperson Eric Yaverbaum, "The White House asked us to and we completely respect that request."

As of now, the "Independence Day Gift Basket" is still available on the site.
