Beauty Company Pulls Malia Obama's Name From Product

But word spread quickly, and the basket was promptly renamed--without reference to the first daughter. According to spokesperson Eric Yaverbaum, "The White House asked us to and we completely respect that request."
As of now, the "Independence Day Gift Basket" is still available on the site.
So what do you think, StyleListers? Is it okay for a tiny company selling non-toxic, good-for-you products to rely on a little publicity stunt during a recession? Or was using the first daughter's name a punk move?

My 3 girls had different reactions, but none was favorable. My own is that no matter how it turns out, this crumby, money-oriented person has gotten his money's worth out of all the publicity. I hope my kids stick to their guns and never buy any of his stuff again.
