Supermodel Karen Mulder Arrested for Threatening Her Plastic Surgeon

A case of plastic surgery gone awry? Supermodel Karen Mulder has decided to take what may be botched surgery into her own hands by threatening her plastic surgeon!

Telegraph UK reports that the 39-year old supermodel is being held in police custody in Paris after being arrested for allegedly placing threatening phone calls to her plastic surgeon.

The detective on the case said that Mulder demanded that a previous operation be reversed and "'was screaming and shouting about the operation and became extremely threatening.'"

Known for her runway grace and stunning good looks, Mulder in her heyday modeled for the likes of Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent and was close friends with a pre-Sarkozy Carla Bruni.

But despite huge ad campaigns, including posing for Victoria's Secret, Mulder has exhibited unstable behavior before. After her modeling days, the Dutch model apparently went through a bout of depression and reportedly had a failed suicide attempt in 2002.

Mulder returned to the runway in seemingly good form for Dior's Fall 2007 Couture show.

The bit of fashion irony here -- and one that Telegraph also points out -- is that Mulder was arrested in the 8th arrondissement in Paris, the same place she got her modeling start in the Eighties with the Elite Paris agency. Sadly, things have come full circle.

Her face and body are her career. If he ruined her face, he essentially disabled her. If he paid her to do a runway show for him and she broke his hands (destroying his career), people would not be surprised that he was angry for destroying his life. I don't even want to imagine how I would feel if my face and my career were ruined by someone. She paid this man a lot of money to perform a service he said he could do.

Here's an idea, don't do anything to alter your natural looks and these problems wouldn't come to light ! People need to start accepting others for their natural beauty instead of making people look like something they are not ! And furthermore people need to have more confidence in their natural appearances instead of ruining what their parents created !

Anyone who has to have plastic surgery to create an image worthy of modeling career, in my opinion has no business in the profession. Anyone can look "glamorous" if they surgically alter every little imperfection or spend their lives getting pumped, preened, airbrushed, and injected with chemicals and by substituting or enhancing every feature with prosthetic devices and implants.
A true supermodel in my estimation is a natural beauty who stays fit through a healthy diet and exercise and doesn't need 17 layers of clown-like make-up before she can show her face on camera. I see tons of naturally pretty girls in pageants here in Delaware all the time.

You pays your money, you takes your chances. Plastic surgery is a gamble, unfortunately, and these surgeons make mistakes or they simply don't know beforehand what they are really doing. Everyone, even the very rich, need to understand that. But still, he took her face in his hands and flubbed it. He needs to compensate this woman big-time, whose livelihood is now seriously threatened. I don't blame her for being upset at all, he probably turned a deaf ear when she tried to talk to him.
