Twiggy - The New Face of Olay

She's still got it!
25 years after starring in Olay's original UK TV ad campaign, iconic Sixties model Twiggy is back to work as the brand's face, this time appearing in Olay Definity's new UK print ads (above).
"We we thrilled to welcome Twiggy back to the brand," says Sarah Clarke, spokesperson for Olay Definity. "She is a true beauty icon who continues to be an inspiration to millions of women across the UK."
Despite the controversy that her rail-like, boyish figure caused (you think Kate Moss had it bad?), the original waif (now, about to turn 60) has endeared herself to an audience of women who have likely long given up trying to look good in a Mary Quant minidress.
In addition to the new Olay campaign, the supermodel is continually the center of British behemoth Marks & Spencer's celebrated high-profile ad campaigns (holding her own with the likes of fresher-faced models like Lily Cole, Erin O' Connor and Lizzy Jagger), and even has her own line of apparel and bed linens.
Maybe it's Twiggy's down-to-earth attitude about aging that makes the former "It" girl so easy to relate to.
"I don't understand people getting depressed about growing older," she told the Daily Mail. "There is nothing you can do about it, so you might as well embrace it."

Twiggy promotes herself as a staunch animal welfare/anti vivisection campaigner yet has agreed to be the face of a company owned by Proctor & Gamble, well known for their cruel and unnecessary animal experiments. Says a lot for her ethics.

I do a lot of TV and modeling work. My business is all about looks and how to look perfect at any time, and any place. I’m not young anymore and this is now harder than ever. I thought my career was almost over but GenFX™ is my secret weapon. Quite honestly, I look 10 years younger than my real age! http://www.antiaginggenfx.com/

Working as an esthetician I always get people asking what they can do about their wrinkles and cellulite. For wrinkles I tell them about Beauty Lift http://ultimateanti-aging.info and how it is an incredible anti-aging, anti-wrinkle cream that contains the most potent, doctor grade, wrinkle erasing ingredients that tone and tighten the skin for a smoother, younger face. It's much better, safer, and less expensive than Botox. They always come back to tell me how great it is and how much younger they look. It’s a great product and I back it up 100%. http://ultimateanti-aging.info
For cellulite problems I always recommend Body Solution http://cli.gs/CelluliteSolutions a cellulite toning system that is clinically proven to smooth cellulite and firm in as little as 72 hours.

I love that someone iconic and not 16 is the face for olay. As a woman in my 40's I can relate more to buying an anti-aging product from someone who has been around the block a bit and is not golly gosh young without a wrinkle.
I am in 40's and take good care of my skin, I always use sunblock and try to drink water I recently lost over 80 pounds after battling my weight for years, I know I will never be heavy again. I am not thin, but I am healthy, curvy and normal and am happy with how much I get to eat to maintain my size.
I stopped eating lots of processed foods and discovered the huge advantage of adding fiber to your diet. You feel fuller and more satisfied longer. I used to start my day with a muffin and a diet pepsi. All empty calories and loaded with fat. I now have a thick greek yogurt with 2 tablespoons of fitflax http://www.fitflax.com and some berries and a cup of green tea. I have it on a nice plate,
treat myself like a lady and I feel fabulous. Fitflax is a golden
roasted flax and chia blend that is nutty, delicious and low carb and low cal. Since it is roasted it does not have to be ground and it loaded with Omega 3's and antioxidants. So not only did I lose weight, but my skin is fabulous now too. Using good skin care I feel is important, but I think what you eat is almost as important too. When people have no good fats in their diet, their skin usually looks dull! Oprah listed the code fit10 on her site to get 10% off on fitflax.

Um...wow..you people are so slow sometimes. That whole post is a carefully crafted sales pitch! Hello! Wake up and smell the coffee! Any time you see an ad with a link, telling you to look/buy/sell/work at home, it's an automated, pre wrote pitch. Duh!

I like Twiggy, but since she has her own line of skin care products she pimps on QVC in the UK isn't this all about her making a buck........................

So happy to see Twiggy. I admired her in the 60's as a teenager. Nice to see her again. She looks great.

I think it's great that they're using someone who's not 20. However, I still think Olay products suck! If I put hydrochloric acid on my face, it couldn't hurt more. Organic and natural -- not chemicals -- and not tested on animals -- is the only way to go.

I have been a user of Olay since there was only one kind of bottle sold and it was called Oil of Olay. I like it and Olay has done well for my skin, everyone says that I don't look my age of 64. I have been using Olay for approx. 45 years. It's great stuff.

I agree. I started using Oil of Olay on a trip, in the 80's, when I forgot my Elizabeth Arden products. The moisturizer was a cheap buy, meant to be used for a week and discarded when I got home. I never bought any other brand again. It may not be perfect for everyone, but it is for my skin. My daughter, who uses Clinique, kids me saying I should treat myself to something better and new and stop using my "Oil of Old Age" but she is the first to admit my skin looks very smooth and healthy for a woman in her late 50s.

I am also 59 and this is so encouraging for this company to hire a mature woman, she looks amazing! As I have aged, I have sadly noticed I must have also become a bit more invisible and yet I have much to offer, life experience, education as do many of my mature sisters. It is truly frustrating to be simply not seen because I am of a certain age. Thank you so much for believing that wisdom and beauty can be at any age!

I've used OIl of Olay since I was 21 and at 54, I look 10-15 years younger. Even my doctor asked why I looked at least 10 years younger! In the last 6 months, a few people told me they thought I was in my 30's! (However, I think that's pushing it.) I love the Olay products!
