I am a survivor , transventricular cranitomy, may 1995, recovery is as difficult as the surgery if not more so in that no one can know the pain you feel from a brain that itself feels no physical pain.I think my cognitive impairments make it impossible to fully explain this condition that is associated with many traumatic brain injuries.Dealing with becoming flustered with an impairment that may only be noticed by a neurologist can bring the darkest of depressions.I live with it. Heather D and Tara.... hang in there! My husband is almost at his 5th year of remission with a tumor that invaded his sinus cavity, brain, and wrapped around one eye. He was 42 with no symptoms other than what we thought was a sinus infection. The recovery from the 17 hour operation he had was hard...and the year of chemo and radiation after was hell. BUT, once he was finished with treatment, he began to very quickly regain his strength and appetite and was able to start back to work 3 weeks after his last chemo. He does not have any cognitive impairment. Today he is strong and healthy and doing everything he did before he got sick.

there is a new treatment thats been around for awhile.it is called cyberknife it is surgery without knives.It is radio surgury that they say no tumor can hide from.painless and it does work .My wife had it done in lung and liver and brain.it did kill the tumors.hope this helps someone.

Im a 37 year old lady who litterally just went thru this! I had my surgery and it was a anaplastic tumor(stage 3)..they thought it was benign...but came back otherwise. They got it ALL!!! i am now doing radiation and chemo.Its a long recovery...remember...Be strong...Live Strong...Pray Strong.

Your misinformed, I sell health insurance, either she didn't have any or the money will go for running the company while she is out of work, Any health insurance policy has a maximum out of pocket expense you can incur, The maximum at the highest level is usually 15,000 dollars, That's the maximum she could possibly spend with insurance!!

I am also 59 and I am almost 10 years from my diagnosis -- brain tumor. The surgeons wanted to cut but I chose radiation. (the fact of the matter is, that after surgery you will have to have radiation anyway). These tumors are very slow growing and they are all in difficult places if within the brain itself. I went to the U of Minnesota Hospitals and they had state of the art equipment. 10 years later, there must be even more advanced treatments. It is a laser that pinpoints the radiation in small amounts for weeks of treatments. Surgeons want to cut and advised me to go this route -- and the radiation people said the opposite. I was very confused, but chose the more conservative route..knowing I could always get surgery if this fails. I have attended my daughters wedding, the birth of two grandchildren, and feel great. JD, My father also had maglinant glioblastoma multiforme 30 years age when he was 55 yrs. old. They did operate but it didn't stop the growth - it gave us a little more time with him.

I report every one of them as a matter of reflex. They pop up on every board, regardless of subject, and frankly colon cleansing has nothing to do with current events, except for the individual being cleansed. I'd guess that it's pretty current for them, but I'd rather not discuss it with them.
