Not content to be known solely for its iconic zigzag dresses and famously skimpy bikinis, Missoni -- founded in 1953 by husband-and-wife team, Ottavio and Rosita -- is reaching out to the art world via an exhibition at the Estorick Collection in London.

Through September 20, the Italian art museum will host the installation "Workshop MIssoni: Dare to be Different," which will offer a bird's-eye view into the creative and technical process behind the Italian knitwear label, as well as a personal look at the Missoni family through personal works of art.

"We have always been interested in art, in its means of dialogue with fashion," says Luca Missoni, creative director of Missoni Sport and the menswear collection.

The exhibit will also feature the brand's recent efforts to be kinder to the environment. Missoni clearly knows a thing or two about keeping current.

Since most of us can't hop the pond for the exhibit, check out these Missoni styles below.
