Michelle Obama Style - Summer Brights

New hairdo or not
, Michelle Obama stepped out last Friday in eye-catching summer brights!

Mrs. O started out the afternoon in sunny yellow, wearing a Michael Kors lacquered bouclé four-button, cap-sleeve jacket with matching pencil skirt at the 10th Annual Cooper Hewitt National Design Awards ceremony (see video above). She finished her put-together look with a set of gold bangles and her usual bob.

The First Lady was the honorary patron of the program and hosted the awards ceremony and a White House luncheon for the winners and finalists. Other speakers included Francisco Costa of Calvin Klein (perhaps Mrs. O using her fashion star power?) and architects Calvin Tsao and Zack McKown.

Later, Michelle and hubby President Obama stepped out in D.C. for the Evening Parade at the Washington Marine Barracks. The first parade was held in 1957 and takes place every Friday evening from May through August.

For the occasion, Mrs. O again rocked bright solids, changing into a turquoise dress with a loose bow and short-sleeved lavender cardigan. She topped off the nighttime look with black kitten heels and tucked her bob behind her ears.
