Wedding Dress with Built-In Shapewear. Brides Everywhere Can Eat Again

Shape fx has launched what the company calls the "Dream Wedding Dress" -- it promises to push-up, smooth and control in all the right places.
The 100 percent silk dress (above left) has built-in control garments (above right) including a "hidden power-mesh slip" that supports the bust and holds everything in. The slip also features a lacy silicone hem that prevents the slip from riding up. (Will the wonders of technology never cease?)
"We designed this revolutionary dress to ensure that she [the bride] will look and feel picture-perfect," says Geralynn Madonna, President and CEO of Signature Styles (Shape fx's parent company).
The white wedding dress comes in sizes 2-18 and retails for $459; available online and by phone at 800-253-6115.
Lined in silk organza, the floor-length gown features a sweetheart neckline, cap sleeves and shirred bodice (aka tummy tuck). We think it could work on the right bride, though we can't promise you'll be able to breath.

Agreeing with Melissa. Why in the world would someone wearing a size 2 need this dress? To make them look like girls size 12? The sizes really should go beyond 18 :-)

Perfect, lets deceive everyone into thinking we look good under that dress when we don't. If a woman wants to "look beautiful" for her wedding, then she should be BEAUTIFUL. If you are so disgusted by you body, fix it. "Women can start eating again"....... just what we need, more obese people and men that enable it by marrying fat women.

Why would a size 2 even need this????????????? For that matter anyone under a size 14 shouldn't really have a need for this unless they have a body that is top or botton heavy and really doesn't reflect their true size. Come on, available in size 2, what is this world coming too

Greg -- are you serious?? The ONLY thing you said that holds true is that if you are unhappy with your body, you can change it. Otherwise, sir, you are simply another pompous, selfish man - seemingly only interested in what his "arm candy" looks like.
This article was a matter of fact presentation of a new wedding dress option for a bride who wants to look great, and feel comfortable with her looks on her big day. Not an avenue for men like you to knock women down!
You so obviously have ZERO idea what societal pressures are placed on women to look "the part." We are over and over again reminded by airbrushed celebrity photos everywhere we turn that we are chubby, fat, obese, or otherwise ugly. Your comments are rude, and extremely damaging to every woman out there who feels her body is less than perfect.
If you are married - I hope your wife doesn't know of your severe shallowness. And if you have a daughter, I pray she will not be plagued by the pressures (that start very young) and develop an eating disorder. This is a serious problem in our country, and all developed countries.
For you to reduce body image issues to a joke, and to so casually say: ".......just what we need, more obese people and men that enable it by marrying fat women" is extremely disrespectful, and shows exactly why women are killing themselves - either by outright suicide, or the slow suicide of starvation - for "the look."
Fat in this country is apparently now a size 2 or size 4??? Come on now...
