Four Colors That Flatter Everyone

Add a bit of eggplant or classic red to your closet -- Real Simple says they both flatter all. Photos: Getty Images
- Eggplant: Versatile enough for both warm weather and cooler fall, the plummy aubergine shade is just the right blend of blue and red, keeping the color balanced for your complexion and outfit, says the magazine.
- Classic Red: The siren hue is making a big comeback for fall. Perhaps, it's all the meshing of politics and fashion of late -- Michelle Obama is the style icon du jour, after all. Real Simple states that the best shade when it comes to the color of power is right between an orange hue and the cool blue-reds on the lips of Hitchcock heroines.

Rosy pink and Indian teal were also cited by the magazine as universal winners. Photos: Getty Images
- Rosy Pink: Being called an "English Rose" is a high compliment, and as it turns out, the color rose highly complements. The ideal interpretation of the subtle shade is somewhere between true pink and hard-to-wear peach. According to make-up artist Sonia Kashuk, it highlights complexions, reports Real Simple.
- Indian Teal: An unexpected universally flattering shade, the blue-green combo highlights all skin tones with its unique position as a toned down bright. The color goes well with neutrals, highlighting khakis (and summer tans) and pairs perfectly with darker browns and blacks for fall, says the site.

Rosy pink does not look good on redheads - it makes them look too washed out.

Black, white or maybe a deep navy, these are truly the colors that look good on everyone. I dare you to find a fashion icon to not include at least two of these shades in any line up.

Um Michelle is not my fashion guru- if she is wearing it I KNOW I am not going to be wearing any thing that resembles that want a be joke. She thinks she is Jackie Kennedy- on Jackie's worst and Michelle's best it wouldn't even be close!!!! Michelle tries so hard and looks like she was stoned when she put her wardrobe together- just pitiful. She has no class and she looks like she is trying to be 18-25 years old. She does not have any grace or beauty about her- she is just wearing clothes that do not faltter her figure nor show good taste in the choices and the occasions that she attires herself for and that being said she really needs to get a personal shopper and someone to dress her so she can look more like the wife of our country's leader not some freak trying to be a fashion icon-

This article is just plain silly. No one color fits all - except maybe navy or black. I can't count how many times I have tried to wear red and pink only to be asked if I feel OK. Only other color that makes that happen is orange. I am blond and and light skinned and the red tones make me look ghostly. And my red-headed sister in law looks just goofy in pink.

I don't know about the eggplant but teal seems to be easy for most to wear. I have to disagree with the red and pink though. I am a blonde with a ruddy complexion and reds and pinks make me look even more red in the face. Peach will tone my complexion down.
