The luxury label is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Association Nationale pour le Développment des Arts de la Mode by collaborating with edgy young designers and past ANDAM winners Jeremy Scott, Bless and Charles Anastase on limited editions of the nylon and leather-trimmed bag.
The association promotes French and international emerging fashion talent with its prestigious annual ANDAM fashion award. London-based designer Giles Deacon took home the €160,000 ($228,688) prize this year-- just topping the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund's $200,000 grant for largest fashion prize in the world.
"Here are three styles, three ideas, three ambiances, that reflect the diversity which it is ANDAM's mission to nurture," Nathalie Dufour, head of ANDAM comments.
Indeed left with free reins, the designs ran the gamut. Scott took branding to a whole new level by screening a self-portrait (a baby-faced version, no doubt!) onto the classic bag (above).
The designer has a longstanding relationship with Longchamp having previously collaborated on a special edition Le Pliage bag for French retailer Colette. But "[f]or this special project I chose to do a digital print from a photograph of me as a nouveau samurai," Scott explains.

"I have always dreamed of transforming a Longchamp bag. It's an obsession that dates back quite a few years. In fact, the accessories in my first fashion show in Paris in 2004 were a direct homage to Longchamp" Looks like the designer got his wish!
The bags are set to hit Longchamp boutiques and concept stores worldwide Oct. 1.
