Nails are usually such a snooze-y beauty topic to cover, but man, has there been a lot of cool stuff going on this summer! From Beyonce's diamond-encrusted talons to neon colors to manicure contests, nails are suddenly hot, hot, hot!

Now Shades by Barielle and Barielle's celebrity manicurist, Elle, have formed an unprecedented partnership with beauty blogger Michelle Mismas (founder of the nail-centric blog All Lacquered Up) to create 12 new nail polish colors for fall.

The collection is cool and unusual. Instead of your basic baby pinks or classic reds, Elle and Michelle created steely grays, icy blues, vampy purples and slick greens with shots of shimmer and glitter.

Elle likes Make-It-A-Latte "because it dresses up toes but is neutral for the workplace. Falling Star is good for a casual date and looks great with denim.

"If sparkle isn't what you're looking for, Slate-of-Affairs is on-trend and perfect for everyday. To spice up any outfit, Glammed-Out Garnet is my fave."
