On the heels of announcing a line with Missoni, the footwear company that epitomizes casual cool has now teamed up with avant-garde French fashion label Comme des Garçons' PLAY line.
CDG's Rei Kawakubo -- who previously designed a line with H&M -- once again goes mainstream, but this time looks to Converse's rich history for inspiration.
The four sneaker options are reinterpretations of a Chuck Taylor All Star style from the 1950s that was originally produced for the U.S. military.
There will be both high- and low-top canvas versions, available in black and white, and all will feature the PLAY line's heart logo in place of the standard circular insignia.
Launching at the end of the month, these limited edition kicks will go for $100 a pop and be sold at Comme des Garçons stores in New York, Paris, London, Seoul and Hong Kong, as well as select retailers who carry the PLAY line.
