Kirsten Dunst Gets Anime-Mated

We think she's turning Japanese, we think she's turning Japanese, we really think so.
Looking like she just stepped out of a manga comic, actress Kirsten Dunst got her Sailor Moon on in Tokyo's Akihabara Electric Town district for a video directed by McG (of "Terminator Salvation" fame).
Dunst's colorful anime-mated ensemble featured a Smurf blue wig, pale pink parasol, yellow-and-pink sailor girl top, rainbow tutu, hot pink heels with matching jewelry, and blue-and-white checked knee-highs.In other words, it's a far cry from her standard indie-chick-about-town look, usually punctuated by a tote bag, limp blonde locks, and Ray-Ban shades.
Still, Dunst seemed to enjoy prancing around in her Japanese-inspired duds, smiling on the set and skipping around merrily with parasol in hand. And dare we say that the blue hair works wonders for her fair complexion?
Who knows? Maybe Kiki's new look is just what she needs to launch a second career as one of Gwen Stefani's Harajuku Girls.
What do you think? Do you love her dramatic new look or is it lost in translation? Leave a comment!

that 'turning japanese' ditty that this referenced is really about masturbation, and is completely inappropriate for this sort of cotton-candy type article

I do a lot of TV and modeling work. My business is all about looks and how to look perfect at any time, and any place. I’m not young anymore and this is now harder than ever. I thought my career was almost over but GenFX™ is my secret weapon. Quite honestly, I look 10 years younger than my real age! http://www.antiaginggenfx.com/

I have never been a morning person. That does not work out too well when you have to get 3 kids ready for school in the morning. I have been a regular user of multi-vitamin packs and energy drinks for some time now. I really hated the "burn out" from the drinks and taking the vitamins alone really did not do much for me. I started taking Resveratrol Pills http://cli.gs/RezV and I now love getting up in the morning and have the extra energy to exercise while the kids are in school. So I am a "skinnier" morning person too. I am so glad I found this ultimate supplement: http://cli.gs/RezV

Gwen Stefani RUINED the Japanese and Harajuku image with her stupid HarajukuGirls. They turn the original Harajuku, gothic-lolita and visual kei scene into some stupid pretty pink prep girl thing. It's sickening. I wish she would have respect for the Japanese culture.

I think it leaves an impression makes us accept a day out of normal suit, and into the fairy tale and another world into imagination, and our personality to be someone we can live with in a day, even if it does not exist as a every day doing. We girls love to go wild like that. Tour 21st century. It is fun a day, then we think of something else.

However, Kirsten, in that picture, looks perfectly in the Harajuku style. Like, a type of Decora-Kei style. Good for her, it looks good on her. I would just like to ask her to stay as far away from the culture-crushing HarajukuGirls. (>.>)

"Fighting evil by the moonlight...
Winning love by the daylight...
Never running from a real fight...
She is the one called Sailor Moon!"
I think the anime look works on her.
The strange thing, though...
Look around her. No one notices her get-up. That says something about the Akihabara district. Downtown cosplay otaku central. I WANNA GO THERE!!!!

Remember she was there filming a video. So one would think that everyone around her are extras. She is just not walking around town for nothing. So, no they arent used to people dressed up like living anime dolls just walking around.

Although she isn't actually dressed up like any sailor scouts other then the sailor style top.
But she looks good ^_^

I think she looks so cute!! And she appears to be having a ball.......so just let her have fun and be happy. And that "look" is all the rage in Japan...so "When in Tokyo, do as...".

I think she's stunningly cute, smart, sexy, and I like the new candy girly look. Her blue hair is new and unique. Way to go Kirsten...

Kirsten Dunst is a Sailor Animamate! Who knew?
*shudders @ commenters making BSSM dub refs, though* Sorry, but that dub gives anime a bad name.
U think the blue wig is hot, but the outfit itself is too over-the-top. It looks like she was just doing it to get attention rather than out of real love for Japanese things.
