Reality Stars-Turned-Designers Are Inundating New York Fashion Week

Every season there is an influx of fledgling talent that jockeys for fashion show slots alongside New York City's design elite including Calvin Klein, Oscar de la Renta and Donna Karan.

Bur for spring, the industry newbies are already household names in their own right.

Most of these new comers are "Project Runway" stars such as Christian Siriano and Leanne Marshall. However, not all!

Kristin Davis, better known as "Sex and the City's" prim and proper Charlotte, is one of the TV stars-turned-designers showing, with her The Kristin Davis Collection, and Shereé Whitfield of reality hit series "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" will debut her line She By Shereé.

So, whether these stars of the small screen are worthy of such sartorial reverence is unclear. But their presence at New York Fashion Week will certainly be closely scrutinized.

Can they cut it in the brutal world of fashion? (Cat fighting on reality TV doesn't a designer make.)

Everyone (including us) is beyond anxious to critique the creative abilities of these style newbies, and a high-profile runway show will undoubtedly make or break their fashion futures.

Stay tuned...
