Inspiration can come from some pretty strange places.

In the case of Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai, the designers behind Vena Cava, that strange place is Staples.

As in the office supply store.

Butter manicurist Nonie Cream told StyleList backstage at Vena Cava that: "It took us a while to nail down the perfect manicure color. Finally, the girls came to me, very excited about a sale flyer from Staples. They loved the bright blue shade, and I recreated it for the show by hand mixing the polish backstage. It's a shade of blue that's right in the middle of cobalt and turquoise."

Hence, the shade "corporate blue" was born.

So, we're calling bright blue as an early Spring 2010 trend -- a similar shade was used by Dashing Diva backstage at Lorick.
