We witnessed the frenzy tonight for the polish of the season, Chanel Vernis Nail Lacquer in Jade.

Yes, we got a bottle.

And we'll proudly flaunt our edgy sea green manicure for a few weeks until - we just found out tonight - Chanel debuts their next obsession-worthy shade at their runway show during Paris Fashion Week. Then, even though it won't be available till Spring of next year, we'll start coveting that shade and be over this one. Naturally.

Jade, the limited edition shade created by creative director Peter Philips for Chanel's Fall 2009 runway show, was released for Fashion's Night Out at the company's SOHO store to a crowd of style mavens sipping champagne, getting manicures from Jin Soon Choi and her team, and buying up the polish like hotcakes. It goes on sale tonight at midnight on the Chanel website and like most of Chanel's limited edition polishes is sure to sell out, so act fast if you want it.

Philips will do the same for Chanel's upcoming Spring 2010 show. But their publicist remained mum on the shade, so all we can do is make educated guesses. Anybody?

We'll place our bets on cobalt blue. Just sayin'.
