Loitering Within Tents - Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Day #2

Bravo TV drama! Every journalist in town is reporting that the network's new fashion reality series -- "Launch My Line," hosted by DSquared designers Dan and Dean Caten -- is debuting Sept. 16, the date that (as of today) is still advertised on Bravo TV's Web site.

But, in fact, an insider tells me the show has been pushed back until mid-December. (A Bravo rep confirmed by phone that the show has been delayed, but said, "we have not yet announced the launch date.")

The scuttlebutt from the tents is that Bravo suits feared the new show was not strong enough to go head-to-head with its former fashion flagship "Project Runway," which is currently in its first season on its new home at Lifetime.

But Bravo is only admitting the show has been delayed if you call up and ask -- several Fashion Week promos for the series (like an interview with famed New York dandy Patrick McDonald in The Daily) still say the program is starting next week.

Speaking of "Project Runway," "Models Inc." -- the new Marvel comic starring Tim Gunn as Iron Man -- is being distributed at the tents, and it's a hoot.

But, even better is Gunn spouting lines like, "You've committed intolerable crimes against fashion today that demand justice" in the comic's main feature, which revives the moribund 1954 Marvel character Millie the Model.

Millicent herself is still the most boring woman in comics. But her co-stars include a spunky red-headed lesbian supermodel by the name of Chili Storm (sample dialog: "Chili -- the tabloids would explode if you started dating like, She-Hulk or something!")

Chili doesn't have much to do in the first issue, but with Millicent already framed for murder in the final panel, I'm expecting some serious (comic) drama to come.

Millie -- you can go back to the '50s. I'm reading this comic for Chili Storm!
