THE SCOOP: Life was a carnival backstage at Derek Lam's Spring 2010 show. And we mean that literally. Lam turned Americana on its head with a glamorized version of Coney Island.

"Derek is the only one who can make Coney Island look chic and luxurious," said Pecheux. "It's colorful and optimistic place, but, you know, just a little bit cheesy." The makeup, a madcap mix of yellow, aquas, pinks, purples and oranges, was inspired by the colorful crowds on the boardwalk.

Pita took the Coney Island inspiration and merged it with Kathleen Turner's look in Body Heat, setting hair with a 70s era wave, before teasing it up into curly, disheveled mohawks. Choi darkened tips with Sally Hansen Nail Polish in Blazing Blue, a shimmery dark blue. "For spring and summer, we're seeing lots of dark polish shades," said Choi, "It's exciting because it's so different!"
