After Marshall took her final bow, we made sure to get the dish on their current work situations before saying aufedersein.
Suede: "When I got off the show, I thought 'What am I going to do?' And I thought I had to go high-end, but I was at Urban Outfitters doing an event with Ashley Judd and I got mobbed by a group of kids, and I thought, 'Oh, I just need to do what I've been doing: Very casual stuff.'
"So, I just met with some venture capitalists in Pittsburgh and I'm close to signing a new deal to make clothes for Middle America. It's a denim-based lifestyle line with really affordable jeans that start at $42 and t-shirts for $34. The youth market responds to me very well and it's very edgy tees, dresses, sweaters-very my world. It's going to be my own company. It'll be in stores next Fall."
Kevin Christiana: "I just launched a new clothing line called Mint1792 by Kevin Christiana. That's the year the money mint was established in America. It's a lifestyle brand sort of like Diesel and it'll be in Scoop September 30th nationwide. I'm very excited. I'm also showing the line in Detroit with Kid Rock, Betsey Johnson and Joe Farris [another ex-PR'er]. We're all doing a group fashion show at a zoo.
"My line is full of tailored jackets and denim and really cute shorts for spring. The theme is naughty nautical, so there's a lot of seersucker and obnoxious yacht club blazers but with chains hanging here and there. It's like you're on a sailboat, but your sailboat has graffiti on it and a rock band. Jack and I also just shot a pilot for a show. We're the odd couple hosts and we're making over people's closets but instead of shopping for them, we're actually re-designing their clothes."
Jack Mackenroth: "We've been working the whole year on the pilot and the Style Network funded the whole thing, but apparently they were producing eight shows for one slot, so they passed on ours last month, so we're shopping it around. And I'm actually shooting a pilot for another show. I can't say too much, but it's a reality show and it's adorable. Right now I'm not really designing, because it's a lot of work. But I am working for FashionNewsLive.com, so I've been attending the shows and interviewing designers. I interviewed Christian Siriano for his show and Cynthia Steffe and I try to catch celebrities. It's fun."
